Professional Summary

Rickeda Taylor-Boyce is an experienced Attorney-at-Law with over eight years as a litigator and general practitioner. She has experience in various legal disciplines, including civil and commercial litigation, contract law, labour and employment law, construction law, conveyancing and estate law.

As an advocate, she has represented clients in our domestic courts up to the Court of Appeal level, as lead and instructing counsel. She has acted as counsel for a wide range of clientele, including notable local and regional companies, insurance and financial institutions, statutory boards and the State. She has also successfully navigated various cases, negotiating out-of-court settlements and achieving favorable outcomes on behalf of local and regional clientele in several matters in the areas of employment law, debt recovery, personal injury and employment law.

During her tenure at a locally based regional firm, Rickeda managed commercial and recovery litigation and transactional portfolios, particularly for major banking and financial institutions based locally and throughout the Caribbean. She has also led and managed the labour and employment portfolio of a notable conglomerate, liaising directly with the Global Human Resource Manager.

Most recently, as a consultant, Rickeda has provided her legal services to a corporate law firm, renewable energy start-up company, a financial planning and advisory company and a boutique law firm. Her services were provided in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation, land and property law, conveyancing, renewable energy law, contract law, compliance, and estate planning.

Rickeda is committed to delivering high-quality legal services. Her dedication to her clients and her comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape are an asset to her as a litigator, as she is able to bring a practical understanding of various practice areas.

Her educational background includes being a Barbados Exhibition recipient in 2011, as well as the Valedictorian of the graduating class of 2011 at the Barbados Community College. She went on to pursue her LLB, graduating with Honors in 2014 from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Further, she obtained her LEC, graduating from the Hugh Wooding Law School in 2016. She was called to the local Bar that same year.

She was an elected member of the Council of the Barbados Bar Association for two consecutive years, from 2021-2023, also serving in the role of Assistant Secretary to the President of the Barbados Bar Association.

Outside of the law, Rickeda is an avid lover of the Arts and fashion. She is a self-proclaimed foodie, who enjoys travelling, spending time in nature and reading. She participates in charity outreach, focusing particularly in youth development.
